Is There such a thing as an Easy Divorce?

Yes, and maybe.

Let’s begin with, “Yes.”

You and your spouse want to end your marriage.  Both of you are on the same page so the process can be less contentious.  Agreements about spousal support, child support and division of assets and debts are easier to come by.  Even a disagreement in one or two areas can be worked through – the two of you are ready to begin the next chapter of your lives.

Let’s take a look at, “Maybe.”

You want a divorce more than your spouse or – your spouse wants a divorce more that you.  This is a very common.  Agreements about spousal support, child support and division of assets and debts may be harder to come by.  This makes sense – you or your spouse aren’t quite ready for divorce.  It is hard to know what you want.  The future looks uncertain.  What helps in moving forward with divorce is creating some certainty.  Working with a mediator and/or LDA (legal document assistant) can help.  They know the road and can be a useful guide.

Court Requirements – Easy???

Maybe . . .

How to make your divorce easier?  Hire an LDA to help with completing and filing the divorce court paperwork – let them tackle what is required.  An LDA-mediator can also sit down with you to facilitate your agreements.  You can gain some certainty during an uncertain process.
